Mouth Intestine Relation

The mouth is an entry point for the body and it is the initial part of the digestive tract.

The appearance of the mouth often says a lot about the patient's health. It has been scientifically published that oral disorders may have repercussions in the short or long term on the entire body and then interfere with the overall health of the patient.

The numerous species of bacteria that are naturally present in the oral cavity must live in perfect balance to fulfill their functions as a barrier, for example.

Many factors such as poor hygiene, an unbalanced diet (junk food), tobacco, alcohol, medications that decrease saliva production, stress… will be the cause of an imbalance in this oral flora, leading to inflammation.

Inflammation will first have local consequences such as gum bleeding, sensitivities, or local pain, and then will gradually, and insidiously, generalize to the entire body. It is therefore absolutely necessary to stop the inflammation at an early stage by consulting Dr. Kurdyk.

This unbalanced flora is also likely to spread to the sinuses as well as throughout the digestive tract. Digestive disorders or more severe digestive pathologies may then develop.

The conduct of bacterial sampling tests proves to be a valuable aid in establishing the diagnosis and in proposing appropriate therapeutic options.
